Medical administrative assistants, also known as medical secretaries, perform administrative functions for a hospital or clinic using their knowledge of medical terminology and applications. They can work in a variety of locations with common job titles like unit secretary, medical office assistant, patient coordinator or admissions coordinator.
This is a unique role in that it combines both direct and indirect patient care duties. It requires a strong balance of administrative skills and interpersonal abilities.

Program Details

The Medical Administrative Assistant program at CMTC is a 16 week hybrid program. You must have access to a laptop, tablet, or desktop computer, and are required to log into your online classroom daily to stay current with assignments, lectures, and course materials. If you dont have access to a laptop/tablet or Desktop, a laptop can be provided to you via rental or purchase.

Upon successful completion, you will be eligible to sit for the Medical Administrative Assistant Certification Exam through the National Healthcareer Association (NHA).
