Are you ready to begin a career in the healthcare field? Our 8 month Surgical Technician Program is designed to equip you with the specialized skills and hands-on training needed to become a vital member of the surgical team. In just 8 months, you’ll gain the knowledge and confidence to assist in surgeries, manage surgical instruments, and maintain a safe, sterile operating environment.
What You’ll Learn
During this fast-paced program, you’ll be trained in key areas of surgical technology, including:
- Surgical Procedures & Techniques – Learn about various types of surgeries and your role before, during, and after each procedure.
- Sterilization & Infection Control – Master sterilization methods and infection control protocols to protect patients and staff.
- Surgical Instruments & Equipment – Get hands-on experience preparing, organizing, and passing surgical instruments.
- Anatomy & Physiology – Study human body systems to better understand surgical interventions.
- Surgical Safety & Patient Care – Learn how to provide patient support while maintaining safety and confidentiality.
- Emergency Response & Protocols – Be prepared for fast-paced environments with training in emergency procedures
Program Requirements
To enroll, you must meet the following requirements:
- Be 18 years or older
- Provide a valid photo ID and Social Security card
- Have a High School Diploma or GED
- Pass a drug screening
- Wear red or black scrubs and closed-toe shoes
- Have access to a laptop, tablet, or desktop computer
CMTC offers rental and purchase options for students without access to a device.
Hybrid Learning Format
All programs at CMTC are hybrid, combining online and in-person training. You must log into your online classroom daily to complete assignments and stay current with your studies.
Tuition & Fees
- Tuition (if paid in full): $2800
- Weekly Payment Plan: $212.50/week (after registration fee)

Certification & Completion
Upon successful completion, you’ll be eligible to sit for the Surgical Technologist Certification Exam through the National Association for Health Professionals (NAHP) – our preferred/default certification partner. Other certification options may be available based on your career goals.

Applicants to the Surgical Technician Program must submit a written/typed essay of at least 200 words, Applicants may choose to write their 200+ word essay on why they want to become a surgical technician, their strengths and challenges, their commitment to healthcare, or how teamwork and professionalism will help them succeed in the field which will be reviewed by a selection panel.
Those whose essays are approved will be invited to attend an in-person interview as the next step in the admissions process.
Final student selections will be made no later than two months prior to the start of classes to allow adequate time for preparation and onboarding.
